One Day Trip to Aiges-Vergina

On 14 November, we plan to organize a visit to the archaeological sites of Aigai and Vergina. Aigai-Vergina is the first city of the Macedonians and the core of their ancient kingdom. It is the place where the family of Philip II and Alexander the Great reigned for more than three centuries.

The restoration of the palace of Philip II, together with the necropolis and the burial cluster, the Museum of the Royal Tombs, the ancient theatre, the registered church of Agios Demetrios, and the Central Museum, form the Polycentric Museum of Aigai. The Royal Tombs at Vergina, with their fabulous findings (the golden larnax, the golden wreath etc) are among the greatest archaeological finds of the 20th century, worldwide.

The trip to the archaeological sites takes about 1 hour drive, will be by bus, and an English-speaking guide will accompany the group. So, the whole program will take about 5 to 6 hours..

The price is 45 euros , including transportation, the English-speaking guide and the Entrance to the Archaeological sites and the Museums.

Optional lunch will be available at a local tavern (very good food at very low prices).

Everybody is invited to participate: Commissionaires, Accompanying persons, Exhibitors, Foreign Guests - Visitors to the Exhibition. (Only Juries are excluded: they have too much work!)
